You may have spent a long time coping alone, wondering why life feels harder than it seems to for everyone else.
Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, struggling with low self-worth, navigating a difficult life transition, or questioning whether neurodivergence may explain some of your experiences.
Counselling offers a warm, compassionate space to explore what you’re experiencing, develop greater self-understanding, and find a way forward.

Hello, I’m Carolyn, a qualified counsellor offering counselling for adults in Milton Keynes and online.
Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, or carrying a sense that life feels harder than it seems to for other people.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your experiences and begin to make sense of what is happening for you. My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, meaning I believe you are the expert in your own life and that counselling should move at a pace that feels safe and right for you.
I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and life transitions.
I also have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD or autism.
Some people I work with have received a diagnosis later in life, while others may be questioning whether neurodivergence could explain some of their experiences or are waiting for assessment. You may have spent years feeling different from others, wondering why certain things seem harder for you, feeling overwhelmed by everyday demands, or exhausted from trying to cope. Counselling can provide a supportive space to explore these experiences, develop greater self-understanding, and move towards self-acceptance.
I also support women navigating perimenopause and menopause, recognising the emotional, physical, and identity changes that can accompany this stage of life.
Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting survivors of sexual violence and work in a trauma-informed way, recognising how past experiences can affect emotional wellbeing, relationships, and a person’s sense of self.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework, ensuring that your wellbeing, confidentiality, and autonomy remain at the heart of our work together.
Reaching out for counselling can sometimes feel daunting. You might not be sure what to say, or whether counselling is the right step for you.
If you decide to get in touch, we can arrange an initial conversation where you have the opportunity to ask questions and talk a little about what has brought you to counselling. This is also a chance for you to see whether you feel comfortable working with me.
You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to. Counselling moves at your pace.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.
• overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted
• stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand
• not good enough despite trying your best
• anxious, low in mood, or struggling with self-worth
• different from others or questioning whether you may be neurodivergent
• experiencing emotional changes linked to life transitions such as perimenopause or menopause
If any of this resonates with you, counselling can provide a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.
Counselling offers a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing.
Together we can explore:
• the thoughts and emotions that may be affecting your wellbeing
• patterns or experiences that may be influencing how you feel today
• ways to develop greater self-understanding and self-acceptance
• how to build self-compassion and healthier emotional boundaries
Counselling is not about being told what to do or having someone “fix” you. Instead, it provides space to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to make changes that feel right for you.
